The Golden State Warriors will only go as far as Stephen Curry can take them.
Of course, he sure missed his fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson during his two-year absence, in which the Dubs failed to make the playoffs.
But Steve Kerr‘s system revolves around Curry’s skill set, which is why they couldn’t afford to keep him on the shelf for any longer.
The Warriors have looked much better upon Curry’s return, and they were even pretty close to beating the NBA-best Boston Celtics at the TD Garden on Thursday night.
Despite being the worst road team in the league this season, the Dubs went to the locker room with a one-point advantage after Steph wowed the audience with one of his signature half-court shots, this time to beat the buzzer.

Steph finished the night with 29 points, seven assists, four rebounds, three steals, and six three-pointers.
Unfortunately for him, that wasn’t enough to prevent his team from falling 121-118 in overtime to the Celtics in an NBA Finals rematch game they surely had marked on their calendars for quite a while.
Even so, it’s nice to see the Warriors going toe-to-toe with the best team in the Eastern Conference and going on the road, as they’ve struggled mightily away from Chase Center throughout the whole season.
The league is always better when the best are at their best, and the Warriors need to finish the season strong in the stacked Western Conference if they intend to defend their crown as NBA champions.
