Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors doesn’t mind making his opinion known.
There is no doubt that he’s a very nice, humble superstar but that doesn’t mean he won’t stoke the fires of other fanbases every once in a while.
And he just said something that will definitely shake the hornets’ nest.

Speaking about his 2017 Warriors squad and the legendary 2001 Lakers team, Curry predicted his guys could take down Shaq and Kobe.
“We feel like we can win,” Curry said.
He continued: “I don’t know who would guard Shaq but I don’t know who would guard me and Klay either. We rockin’ with that. And three is better than two.”
To many Lakers fans, those are serious fighting words.
But does Curry have a point?

When you get right down to it, these sorts of arguments are always silly because there is no way to prove who is wrong and who is right.
But that won’t stop people from debating!
There is no denying that the 2001 Lakers and 2017 Warriors would have had a tough competition, they were both supremely talented teams.
However, it’s important to remember that many of the skills that Curry, Thompson, and Durant relied upon to make and win the Finals were taught to them by Bryant, O’Neal, and others on that iconic Lakers squad.
In many ways, they laid the groundwork and gave the Warriors the blueprint for success.
Of course, the Warriors built upon that in many ways so you can see why Curry would think they’d be able to take them down.
This argument will rage for decades but one thing will always be clear: these were two of the best NBA teams of all time and no one can disagree with that.
