The Golden State Warriors are almost a lock to make the playoffs, but that’s not where they’d want to be at this point in the season.
The reigning NBA champions have gone up and down in the Western Conference standings for most of the campaign, struggling with injuries and getting manhandled on the road.
Thus far, Steve Kerr’s team has won just seven out of 32 games away from CHASE Center, which is obviously a major concern for them with the prospect of four away games in every potential playoff series they get in on.
And moral victories aren’t good enough for them anymore, not at a point when the finish line is so close.
That’s why Stephen Curry didn’t hesitate to show his frustration with his team after another tough loss on the road, stating that — while his confidence remains unwavering — they need to start showing up at some point.
“I’m always confident,” Curry said postgame. “That’s why we show up, but we’d like to have something to show for it at some point. We got another opportunity on Thursday against a great team that’s probably going to be a wild atmosphere, and we gotta be ready for it. Confidence never wavers. It’s just frustrating at times when you can’t get it done and have something that says yeah, we know how to win on the road, this particular team, so, got another opportunity.”

Curry hasn’t shied away from speaking his mind about how the team has underperformed for most of the season, which isn’t a usual sight for a player like him.
The Warriors just have a handful of games to get their act together and go back to being the team they were used to being since Steve Kerr took over, and it seems like he doesn’t see that sense of urgency from his supporting cast.
We know better than to count out a team like theirs before the start of the playoffs, but this Warriors team doesn’t feel just like last year’s.
