The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t ready to commit to a quarterback for their Week 15 game against the Carolina Panthers.
Their 2022 first-round draft selection, Kenny Pickett, is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol, and his status for Sunday is unknown.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin spoke out about their quarterback decision earlier this morning.
"There's no need to land the plane until it's required to land the plane," Mike Tomlin says of deciding between Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, assuming Kenny Pickett can't go.

Tomlin will likely have to choose between Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph on Sunday if Pickett is unable to play due to his concussion.
Tomlin began his head coaching tenure with the Steelers in 2007.
2022 will likely mark the first losing season in Tomlin’s career with the Steelers, a truly remarkable feat.
Tomlin’s streak of winning was largely due to elite quarterback play, and a defense that has consistently been one of the NFL’s best.
Trubisky Vs. Rudolph
After Pickett went down with an injury on Sunday, Trubisky was called upon to step in.
Once he entered the game, he promptly threw for 276 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in their eventual 16-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Besides Sunday’s game, Trubisky was the starter for the Steelers for the first four games of the season, which led to a 1-3 record.
Rudolph on the other hand, has a bit more experience with the team, playing in 17 games in his four seasons with the team.
In these games, Rudolph has completed 61.5 percent of his passes, averaged 139 passing yards per game, and has thrown 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Tomlin will have to decide between these two options at quarterback on Sunday, although neither has instilled much confidence in him.
