The Pittsburgh Steelers are in their first year after the Ben Roethlisberger era.
Their longtime quarterback hanged his cleats up for good after 18 seasons, two Super Bowls, and six Pro Bowl selections.
The squad signed Mitchell Trubisky to a two-year deal in hopes of him being their starting quarterback.
But aside from bringing in the former UNC standout, the team also drafted Kenny Pickett who played in their backyard.
The Steelers made the five-year Pitt Panther the only quarterback selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Despite questions about the size of his hands, the team still believes that his credentials are worthy of the 20th overall selection.
Aside from being ACC Player of the Year, Pickett was also a First-Team All-American in his final year at Pitt.
He finished that season with 334 completions, 4,319 yards, and 42 touchdowns.
The Steelers hope that he can translate his college game to the NFL.
Luckily for their fans, videos like this one from 93.7 The Fan are the perfect tease of what might come.

The short clip showed Pickett completing a deep pass to George Pickens, who was the team’s second-round pick this year.
Pickens won a national championship with the Georgia Bulldogs and had 1,347 yards in his collegiate career.
The Steelers hope that this partnership will be successful enough to give them a chance for another Super Bowl.
Can Pickett Handle The Pressure?
However, it’s hard to get too excited with videos like these because there were no defensive players coming after him.
Pickett had all the time to make a perfect throw to Pickens who also made an easy catch.
He won’t get that many open looks during the games.
Therefore, Pickett’s success hinges on being able to deliver even when the opponent is coming after him.
If he can do that, the Steelers have the rightful heir to Roethlisberger.
