The 2022 season is sort of a fresh start for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
No, head coach Mike Tomlin won’t go anywhere especially after making the playoffs last season.
However, everyone and everything around him seems to be changing.
His longtime starting quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, has retired and a battle between Mitchell Trubisky and Kenny Pickett for the starting role might ensue.
Likewise, Omar Khan replaced Kevin Colbert as the team’s general manager after the 2022 NFL Draft.
But the last change might be the toughest to swallow as the Steelers’ home field will have a new name.
It will no longer be Heinz Field to give way to Acrisure Stadium.
Unfortunately, Steelers fans can’t do anything about the transition because the naming rights deal has been finalized and an announcement could happen anytime soon.
It will be difficult for the team’s fans to accept this one because it has been known as Heinz Field ever since it opened in 2001.
In 21 seasons bearing that name, the Steelers won two Super Bowls and made it to six AFC Championship Games.
Aside from Heinz being a locally-based company, it’s hard to not miss one unique feature about the stadium.

Quick Facts About The Bottles
It remains to be seen what they will do with these giant ketchup bottles.
But before they are taken down, it’s worth noting that each of them is 35 feet tall and has over 20,000 LED lights.
Each bottle weighs 8,000 pounds and it could contain 1,664,000 fluid ounces of Heinz ketchup.
To put that number into perspective, that’s enough to give every person at a soldout Heinz Field at least one 14-ounce bottle of ketchup to take home.
There must be some way to immortalize these big bottles because they have been an iconic sight for Steeler Nation.
