Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is already eligible for a contract extension after the 2022 season.
The team shouldn’t think twice about giving him a massive contract because his numbers are already worth beyond the four-year, $13.1 million rookie contract he signed in 2020.

The Raiders Wire’s managing editor Marcus Mosher shared that Jefferson’s 3,016 yards are the most by any NFL wideout before reaching 23 years of age.
He is way in front of Randy Moss who had 2,726 and Josh Gordon with 2,451.
The former LSU standout was able to achieve this feat with two stellar seasons.
He had 1,400 yards in 2020 to break the single-season rookie record which was then held by Anquan Boldin.
A year later, he even did better with 1,616 yards and ten touchdowns.
With the way he is trending, it isn’t impossible to see him have a 2,000-yard season which would be the first in NFL history.
While that milestone remains to be seen, ESPN’s Field Yates is already speculating that Jefferson should get a $1 billion contract extension.
That amount would be difficult to achieve considering that the ceiling for the wideout market is $30 million annually.
However, Jefferson could have another strong season thanks to their new head coach.
Jefferson Will Be Kevin O’Connell’s New Cooper Kupp
The Vikings’ new head coach will impart the offense that helped the Los Angeles Rams win Super Bowl LVI.
In that case, Jefferson will fill the role of reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.
If everything goes well, Jefferson will have another All-Pro selection and the Vikings may return to the playoffs.
But he will have some motivation throughout the 2022 season because another great season will earn him the contract he deserves.
