The term “GOAT” gets thrown around quite often when discussing star players in professional sports.
But that term is one that really could be used for Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani.
He is a once-in-a-lifetime player that can dominate both on the mound and at the plate.
We have never seen anyone like him and probably never will see anyone else do the things that he can do.
As a hitter, Ohtani is leading MLB in home runs and runs batted in.
He has 26 homers to go along with 62 RBI.
On the mound, he has a 3.13 ERA and has struck out 117 hitters in 89.0 innings.
Also, he is not letting opposing batters get hits off him very often.
According to Codify, Ohtani has the lowest batting average allowed in baseball at .199.

Players should not be allowed to be this good at both hitting and pitching.
That is what makes Ohtani one of the greatest we have ever seen.
Once again, Ohtani has already been voted into the All-Star Game as the starting designated hitter.
He has been great for baseball as everyone wants to watch him play.
Also, he continues to show how baseball is a worldwide game thanks to his following in Japan.
Not to mention he finished off an impressive World Baseball Classic performance by striking out Mike Trout to win the event.
Ohtani is everything the game of baseball needs.
Now everyone hopes to see him play when it matters most in the postseason.
