Things are not going very well for the Philadelphia 76ers right now.
The Miami Heat are just playing with them currently and are up 2-0 against Doc Rivers‘ squad.
Unless the 76ers can turn things around, this season is just about over for them.
However, it might already be over, according to NBA history.
The Heat are 16-0 all-time when leading a best-of-7 series 2-0, the most series wins without a loss all-time.

Miami is 16-0 all-time when they are leading a best-of-7 series 2-0, which is the most series wins without a loss in the history of the league.
At the same time, Philadelphia is 0-13 all-time when trailing 2-0 in a best-of-7 series.
Since the 76ers are down 2-0 right now against the Heat, many assume that this matchup is already finished.
Are they right?
What If Embiid Returns?
The statistics state that the 76ers are headed for defeat but that’s not telling their whole story.
Just before this series began, Philadelphia lost their biggest star, Joel Embiid.
Embiid is easily the biggest player for the 76ers and is a huge difference-maker on both sides of the floor.
Currently sidelined with a head injury, Embiid has been gone and Philly suffered without him.
In fact, the team has completely collapsed without him and hasn’t had a single defense against Miami’s power.
Now, if Embiid can return to the series perhaps Philly stands a chance.
They would face overwhelming odds against them but a comeback wouldn’t be outright impossible.
Looking at the past, things look grim for the 76ers but records are always made to be broken.
With Embiid’s help, perhaps the 76ers can make the Heat’s record 16-1.
Players always say that they only focus on one game at a time.
That’s definitely what they should be doing.
