The legacy of the San Antonio Spurs is one that can only be challenged by a few others.
While the team is a shell of its former self, there was a time when the Spurs were easily the best team in the league.
Since joining the NBA, they have won five NBA Finals and appeared in 47 playoffs.
Now the team is celebrating that history and legacy.

The Spurs unveiled their 2022-23 Nike NBA Classic Edition uniforms celebrating 50 years in San Antonio.
You’ll be seeing these jerseys a lot in the upcoming season as the team either squanders at the bottom of the Western Conference or surprises everyone with a rallying, comeback season.
Uncertainty For The Spurs
After the trade of Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks, it seems like the future for San Antonio is very questionable.
There are many rumblings that the team is officially in a rebuilding phase and that this season will be a huge letdown.
However, things could change: the team could surprise and over-perform or they could be a part of a blockbuster trade.
Some reports have said the Los Angeles Lakers are trying to rope the Spurs into a three-team trade.
The Lakers could end up with Kyrie Irving and the Spurs could end up with Russell Westbrook as other assets make their way to the Brooklyn Nets.
If that happens, it would radically transform the Spurs – for better or possibly worse.
Even if they have a dreadful season, the Spurs are a historic and legendary franchise that broke records and set the league on fire for years.
They might be going through a rough patch right now but anyone who studies and loves basketball knows just how impressive this team once was – and could be again.
