Just this morning, it was revealed that Spencer Strider and the Atlanta Braves had agreed on a six-year, $75 million contract extension that will take him through the 2028 season.
The deal also includes a $22 million club option with a $5 million buyout for 2029.
The Braves have locked up yet another young star long term, with Strider joining guys such as Ozzie Albies, Ronald Acuna Jr. Matt Olson, Austin Riley, and others on the list of stars the Braves have extended.
Strider commented on his new contract with the Braves and had this to say about staying with the defending champs.
Spencer Strider: "the commitment to winning, not just right now but in the future with the guys in this clubhouse is obvious. It's very cool to have the opportunity to stay here. The expectation is I outperform any contract I ever sign." #Braves

Strider Excited To Stay In Atlanta
It’s clear that Strider is very happy about the new contract.
The Braves know he’s built different than others and has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
And so, they rewarded him with a big contract extension.
This is good news for the Braves, who have been very aggressive this season about trying to lock up their young stars.
Strider talked about the Braves’ commitment to winning and expressed excitement for the opportunity to stay in Atlanta for a long time and spend more time with his teammates.
He also expressed his desire to outperform his contract, which shows his commitment to the organization.
The Braves are very clearly focused on winning.
Winning the World Series last year wasn’t enough to quench their thirst, and now they want more, as evidenced by Strider’s contract extension.
It’s clear that they are focused on winning another ring and turning the team into a dynasty.
The Braves will open up the NLDS on Tuesday at home against the resurgent Philadelphia Phillies.
