With no NBA on right now, all basketball eyes are set on the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
With that in mind, people from all over the world were eager to watch some NBA talent going at each other, as Team USA was set to face off with Luka Doncic’s Slovenia for a scrimmage in Malaga, Spain.
Unfortunately, that may not be possible, as the Slovenians will keep Doncic out of the game as a precaution, according to a statement made by the national team (via Tim Bontemps of ESPN).

Notably, Doncic has been on a roll throughout the offseason, as he hasn’t stopped working out since the end of the season, which is why he should get a breather while he still can.
It’s a bummer that we won’t get to see him do his thing vs. Team USA, especially considering he seems to be slimmer than ever and in the best shape of his career.
Doncic has faced plenty of criticism for his alleged weight issues, as he’s often entered the season looking slim and then ends up bulking up throughout the course of the campaign.
He’s never been the fastest or more athletic guy in the league, but he still has the ability to control the pace of the game like few other players in the history of the game.
The league may not be ready for a skinny Luka Doncic, and it seems like we’ll have to wait a little longer before we get to see him.
