It’s been obvious for a while now that the Brooklyn Nets are not the team that fans expected.
There were many reasons for dysfunction in the squad, from COVID absences and illness, to injuries and trades that didn’t pan out like expected.
Whatever the reasons, Brooklyn struggled – but few people expected things to end this way.
I cannot believe Kevin Durant's Brooklyn Nets just got swept.

The Nets were swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics and that has many people feeling shocked.
Skip Bayless summed it up perfectly with his tweet: “I cannot believe Kevin Durant‘s Brooklyn Nets just got swept.”
It was a jaw-dropping development that is nearly as embarrassing as the nightmare seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.
However, the Nets can bounce back next year.
A Better Brooklyn
This is not the way things should have ended – no one can argue that.
However, the hand that Brooklyn was dealt was horrible and unprecedented.
The COVID absences are a prime example of something that was out of everyone’s hands.
Thankfully, that shouldn’t be a problem next year.
The Ben Simmons trade didn’t go as smoothly as expected either, with Simmons never playing a game for his new team.
But, again, he should be ready to go next year.
If the team is fully healthy and ready to go when next season starts, there is every reason to believe they could be contenders.
It’s shocking to see them lose in such a manner but there is reason to hope for their future.
That being said, the team needs to spend its offseason perfecting its game, tweaking the lineup, and making any changes they can to get in a better position for next year.
