The Los Angeles Lakers dropped another game they should’ve and could’ve won.
They were up by three with a little under 12 seconds to play vs. the Dallas Mavericks, and instead of fouling or double-teaming Luka Doncic, they played fair defense and allowed him to pull up and tie the game.
Then, the Mavs took care of business in double-overtime, sealing a 119-115 heartbreaking loss for the purple and gold.
Notably, LeBron James was his usual dominant self, putting up 24 points with 16 rebounds, nine assists, and two steals.
However, he was erratic and struggled to get his shot to fall all night long, going 9/28 (.321) and 0/7 from beyond the arc, which also contributed to the loss.
Unsurprisingly, NBA analyst Skip Bayless didn’t waste the chance to take another big shot at LeBron, going as far as to say that he’s now become the league’s worst three-point shooter:
“Shannon [Sharpe] bet me LeBron would make 3 threes tonight. He went 0-7. He’s becoming the NBA’s worst 3-point shooter, dethroning Westbrook,” Bayless tweeted.

While Bayless’ words on LeBron should always be taken with a grain of salt, he finally may be up to something here.
James has been as efficient as per usual from inside the arc, shooting 50.3% from the floor.
However, those numbers take a massive dip when it comes to three-point shooting, as he’s gone just 61 for 214 this season for a horrid 28.5% 3FG.
Those numbers are — in fact — slightly worse than Russell Westbrook‘s, as Brodie is hitting 1.2 three-pointers on 4.0 attempts a night (29.3%).
Notably, James is tied with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Jaylen Nowell for the lowest three-point percentage among qualifying players, so he better hit Stephen Curry up for some tips if he wants to keep the Lakers’ hopes afloat.
