The Los Angeles Lakers are always looking to make a splash move.
After starting the season 2-5, the Lakers have looked terrible.
They cannot shoot the ball and the trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook is not working.
It seems very unlikely this current roster in LA remains the same all year.
They need to make a trade, but should they be calling the Brooklyn Nets about Kyrie Irving?
The answer to that question should be simple: no.
While the Lakers have problems with their current roster and could use a player like Irving, there is no guarantee he even plays.
Irving was just suspended by the Nets for five games after sharing an anti-semitic film on social media.
It remains uncertain if he will even return to the Nets after those five games.
ESPN reporter Nick Friedell thinks Irving might be done in Brooklyn.
“There is a good chance he's played his last game there.”

It will be hard to find any team to take on Irving’s contract and the baggage he brings with him.
Lakers Other Options
There is no chance the Lakers would even consider trading any assets for Irving at this point.
Despite showing interest in the point guard in the offseason, his antics off the court are not worth the hassle.
The Lakers need serious help, especially at shooting the ball, but they should look elsewhere.
Some players that the Lakers should be interested in are Buddy Hield and Myles Turner.
Both players are on the Pacers, and the Lakers could put a package together to acquire them.
LA seems likely to move Westbrook, so he could be a part of a potential package.
The time is now for the Lakers to make a move, but they should not be calling about Irving.
