Shohei Ohtani certainly had a bitter taste in his mouth after a disastrous 2022 season for the Los Angeles Angels.
After a hot start, the Halos began to crumble and ultimately fell short of the postseason, winning just 73 games and finishing in a distant third place in the American League West division.
But the two-way superstar had a season to remember, hitting 34 home runs and winning 15 games as a pitcher, posting a 2.33 ERA.
And so, even before the official report date for spring training, Ohtani is putting in the work.
MLB posted a video from the superstar’s Instagram feed, which shows the right-hander throwing a bullpen session.

Ohtani is ready to go for 2023.
Though he is in the final year of his contract, he’s coming into the season with something to prove.
The Angels also have made some key moves to strengthen their roster, adding Gio Urshela, Hunter Renfroe, and Brandon Drury to bolster their offense.
They also signed veteran left-hander Tyler Anderson to add another key arm to their starting rotation and complement Ohtani at the top.
So, with just one year left before free agency, Ohtani has a better supporting cast around him for 2023 as the Angels look to bounce back from a horrendous 2022 season.
Strangely enough, Ohtani has never played in a postseason game, which is something he is ready to change this coming season.
He’s ready to go for this season, and so are the Angels.
