The Los Angeles Lakers are fighting for their playoff lives.
They currently sit with a record of 32-34 and are in ninth place in the Western Conference.
But, not having LeBron James was thought to be the end of their season.
Instead, the Lakers have won their last two games and are playing well without their best player.
Former Laker Shaquille O’Neal says the fate of the Lakers season rests on Anthony Davis.

When Davis came to LA, the idea was for him to be the next franchise great.
But, due to injuries and other factors, Davis has not reached his full potential.
Now as the Lakers play for their playoff lives, Davis will need to play the best basketball of his career.
Over the last three games, Davis is averaging 35.6 points per game.
He has been aggressive in trying to score the ball and that has helped out the rest of his teammates.
Davis can change how many people view him over the rest of the season.
It seems as if he can not be the best player on a championship team, but he can rewrite that narrative.
If LA can get into the playoffs and get James back, they have a team no one will want to face.
Defensively they have gotten much better thanks to a few key trade deadline moves.
Also, they acquired more shooting in D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley.
Keep an eye on the Lakers over the rest of the season as Davis tries to lead them into the playoffs.
