People tend to forget that the Golden State Warriors are the current NBA champions, and that’s entirely on them.
The team has struggled to be at their best this season, and they have looked far from their usual selves every time they’ve had to hit the road.
That’s why Shannon Sharpe doesn’t think they have a shot at going the distance again this season, as they have the third-worst road record in the league.
Sharpe explained that the opposition is just too good right now and that even though the Dubs’ dynasty isn’t over and they could still win another ring eventually, it’s just not going to happen this season:
“Warriors aren’t winning a championship with the worst road record by any defending champ in history!” Sharpe said on Undisputed.
Chances the Warriors will repeat as NBA champs?

That seems to be the consensus among NBA circles right now.
Nonetheless, the Warriors have never lost a playoff series to a Western Conference foe in the Steve Kerr era, and they’ve had to win multiple games on the road to pull that incredible feat off.
They’re heavily favored by most oddsmakers to beat the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs, and that’s despite being the six-seed.
Of course, winning the whole thing despite not having home-court advantage would be nearly impossible to pull off, but the Warriors have beaten the odds way too many times not to feel like they have a slim chance at the very least.
It’s going to be an uphill battle, but winning the ring this season might as well cement them as the greatest dynasty in modern basketball history, if not the best of all time.
