What a painful, confusing, stressful offseason the Brooklyn Nets just had.
It really all started when the team struggled to even make the playoffs last year and then got swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics.
By the way, that made them the only team in the league to be swept during the postseason in 2021-22.
But then things got worse just weeks after the Finals concluded when it was revealed that Kevin Durant had demanded a trade from the team.
This set off a firestorm of hot takes, headlines, rumors, speculation, and angry tweets at Durant.
Eventually, Durant demanded his trade again and said he would only return to Brooklyn if head coach Steve Nash and General Manager Sean Marks were fired.

In the end, none of that happened: Durant came back to the team, as did both Nash and Marks.
Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe now feels that the situation at the Barclays Center cannot be fixed.
“It’s going to be hard when a player calls for your job,” Sharpe said about Nash and Durant getting along again.
He added, “Kevin Durant created a toxic environment, but Nash doesn’t have a choice, he has to coach this team.”
Durant and Nash say they have put the past behind them but is that just playing nice for the press?
Best Buddies In Brooklyn?
Unless these two men are the most mature and peaceful guys on Earth, there will likely be some hard feelings in the foreseeable future.
But even if they don’t really like each other, they can still win.
This wouldn’t be the first time that two people put their own personal feelings aside for the greater good.
Maybe their relationship is beyond repair like Sharpe says but these two great basketball icons can still win big together.
