The New York Jets want Aaron Rodgers, but they need to know that he’ll come with some extra baggage, and we’re not talking about the guys he wants to bring along with him.
Rodgers reportedly gave the Jets a wishlist of players he wants them to pursue if they intend to make a run at him as well, including Allen Lazard — who they already signed — Randall Cobb, Marcedes Lewis, and Odell Beckham Jr.
And while it wouldn’t be the first time that a superstar asks for some help before committing to another team, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe thinks the Jets would be making a mistake by caving into his demands.
Sharpe pointed out the fact that the Green Bay Packers had already made the mistake of trying to comply with every single one of Rodgers’ conditions, yet he was still unhappy:
“This will be the dumbest move the Jets have made in quite some time, and they’ve made a lot of dumb moves,” Sharpe started.“The Jets haven’t learned from the mistakes Green Bay has made these last five years. Give Rodgers want he wants, and he’ll still be unhappy.”
.@ShannonSharpe sounds off on Aaron Rodgers’ wish list he gave the Jets:

Rodgers has constantly asked for more money or for the team to trade for one of his friends, and he hasn’t even made it to the Super Bowl in over a decade.
Moreover, the Jets would be losing all their power and leverage by just playing along with every single one of his conditions.
It would send the wrong message to the locker room, and it would make Rodgers the de facto decision-maker; that’s a dangerous position.
Not even all the money and conditions were enough to keep him happy in Green Bay, so the Jets need to be quite careful on how they approach this delicate situation.NEXT: NFL Insider Gives The Latest Update On Aaron Rodgers, Jets
