Ever since he made it to the NBA, Damian Lillard proved to have that ‘It’ factor.
He’s been a master in the clutch from day one, knocking down game-tying and game-winning shots with ease year in and year out.
He’s even knocked down series-clinching shots, some of the most iconic in recent NBA history.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see former NFL star Shannon Sharpe state that he’d take him over any other shooter ever if he needs just one shot to win a game.
While some might think that Reggie Miller, Stephen Curry, or Larry Bird were better shooters, Lillard’s clutchness is nearly unmatched in league history.
“Out of all the great shooters — Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller — if I need one shot to win a game, I’m taking Dame,” Sharpe said on Undisputed.

So, this isn’t a case of Max Kellerman choosing Andre Iguodala over Curry; this actually makes sense.
With Iggy trending… let’s never forget Max Kellerman saying he’d take Iguodala over Curry or Thompson… or anyone for the last shot 😂 💀

Lillard may not be the greatest three-point shooter of all time — although he deserves to be a part of that conversation — but he’s the kind of guy who thrives and rises to the occasion when it matters the most, so this is right on point.
Damian has often been overlooked by playing for a small market team, with fans constantly urging him to take his talents somewhere else where he can draw national or even worldwide attention.
But Lillard has repeatedly stated that he won’t run from the grind and that he would rather go ringless than win a championship ‘the easy way,’ and that’s also something worthy of respect, especially in today’s ring-chasing NBA.
