In two days, the MLB world will experience the return of a classic event for the first time since 2017.
The World Baseball Classic will get underway.
Players competing in this legendary event have joined forces with other stars to represent their respective countries and are ready to battle it out and see which team is the deepest and most talented.
But as the WBC approaches, there are several records from the past that may in fact be on the line.
The official Twitter account for the Classic tweeted a list of some of the more recent records that have been set, and posed a question to fans about which one they would like to see broken.
The fun is about to begin.

These are some impressive records.
However, some records don’t last forever.
Ken Griffey Jr. once had seven RBI in a single WBC game.
Unseating “The Kid” is certainly going to be a monumental task for any given player.
But it isn’t impossible by any stretch.
Ubaldo Jimenez once struck out 10 batters in a WBC game.
Perhaps Shohei Ohtani or Sandy Alcantara could go on a tear and break Jimenez’s record.
Fernando Rodney holds the all-time record for saves in a single Classic, having picked up seven saves back in 2013.
That is another record that could be broken by a dominant reliever such as Devin Williams or David Bednar.
There is a lot to be excited about.
There’s no guarantee that any of these records will be broken this year, but there’s also no guarantee that they’ll hold for much longer.
