It’s wild to think that the Los Angeles Lakers are about to have a Pippen on the team.
No, we aren’t talking about long-retired icon Scottie Pippen, but instead his son, Scotty Pippen Jr.
Pippen is playing for the Lakers right now during the California Classic, a series of games that lead up to the NBA Summer League.
People don’t expect to see much during the California Classic but he is showing there is something special brewing for LA.
Scotty Pippen Jr. showed off his vision dropping 8 dimes in Day 2 of the California Classic, improving the @Lakers #NBASummer record to 2-0!

On Day 2 of the California Classic, Pippen put up 15 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals.
He’s been playing his heart out and showing the team that he might really have what it takes to make an impression on the team in the upcoming season.
So, will we see him play alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the LA squad in a few months?
Pippen In The Pack
Pippen recently signed a two-way contract with the South Bay Lakers of the G League.
This means that he’s just one phone call away from being brought onto the regular Lakers rotation, if they need him.
If he continues to play as he has over the last few days, that’s more than likely.
Pippen is a fast, youthful guard: he comes in at just six-feet and uses his size to his advantage, zipping all over the court, weaving in and out of traffic, and creating some terrific assists, as proven by his eight dimes the other night.
The Lakers need all the help they can get, especially from players who are young and not prone to injury.
Pippen has a lot to prove considering who his father is – some people thought he’d be lacking and wouldn’t come anywhere close to the talent of his old man.
But he is making a name for himself during these summertime games.
