The New York Jets didn’t disappoint us this season, as they were projected to be a borderline playoff team and one of the most-improved squads in the National Football League.
Robert Saleh made the most of his new weapons, establishing a solid defense, and giving Jets fans something to be optimistic about for the first time since forever.
However, Zach Wilson‘s terrible play held the team back, up to the point where he was arguably the only reason they weren’t able to clinch a playoff spot.
So, with the Jets reportedly looking to move on from Wilson ahead of next season, rookie CB Sauce Gardner may have let us know what his teammates — or at least him — think about the team’s QB situation.
Gardner took part in the league’s gaming night and played as the Jets, which is normal.
What stole the headlines was the fact that he actually replaced Zach Wilson with Mike White.

The Jets’ offense looked way better with White behind center — and even with Joe Flacco and practice squad call-up Chris Streveler than it did with Wilson.
Wilson was so bad that he was literally booed out of the game once, yet he continued to get more opportunities because of their injuries.
So, maybe we’re all just making a big deal out of nothing, and Gardner’s QB choice didn’t intend to send a message or anything.
But regardless, it seems like the Wilson era at MetLife Stadium has come to an end already, as he just doesn’t look like an NFL-caliber player at this point.
