The New Orleans Saints continue to be one of the most iconic franchises in NFL history.
The team went from being a laughingstock for decades to being a contender and enjoying a long period of success thanks to Drew Brees and Sean Payton.
Now, the franchise is in a state of transition once again.
There is understandably some concern from fans about how the 2022 edition with do with Dennis Allen and Jameis Winston leading the way.
Well, those questions won’t have answers until the season begins.
But one thing fans do know is that the organization has decided to add some hype with a cool new piece of the uniform.

The Saints unveiled a black helmet set to debut in 2022 and fans should be excited.
The new helmet, which will be used on a limited basis, looks slick and only adds to the on-field legacy of the Saints.
Saints Spicing Things Up In 2022
Tom Brady‘s return totally changed the landscape of the NFC South in 2022.
Without him, it was a total free-for-all, but his return should mean it is a two-team race between the Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Even then, Tampa will be the heavy favorite for obvious reasons.
So will the new helmets help propel New Orleans to victory?
Most likely not, but a new look helps keep things fresh and also serves as an easy way for the team to sell more merchandise.
Just creating excitement about something as simple as a helmet separates the iconic teams from those seeking any sort of relevance during the offseason.
