The Denver Broncos offense has underperformed for years.
They haven’t made the playoffs since their last Super Bowl victory, even if they’ve assembled a talented receiving corps.
Any opposing defense has problems stopping Tim Patrick, Courtland Sutton, and Jerry Jeudy.
Noah Fant could have created problems had he not been included in the trade package for Russell Wilson.
But aside from Denver’s passing game, they also have a solid backfield with Javonte Williams, who finished with 903 yards and four touchdowns last season.
However, their running back depth chart improved after the Broncos resigned Melvin Gordon III on a one-year deal.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared that Gordon could earn up to $5 million.
This development has Denver’s new starting quarterback excited.

He will have another target to work with, and Denver’s running game can take off some pressure from their wideouts.
But once both facets of their offense get going, the Broncos will be challenging to stop.
Throw head coach Nathaniel Hackett’s system into the mix, and the team will have limitless ways to score.
A Vital Signing For Denver
With Gordon back, the Broncos won’t experience reduced production once Williams takes a breather.
Last season, the former Wisconsin standout had 918 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
Those are slightly better numbers than Williams, making them a potent two-prong ground attack.
Once they get going, the defense will pay more attention to them, and their receivers will have an easier time beating looser coverages downfield.
Getting Gordon to play one more season in Denver helps them become competitive in a hotly-contested AFC West.
The Broncos have the best backfield tandem in the division, and they will use that strength to their advantage.
