The Denver Broncos were expected to have a high-powered offense with quarterback Russell Wilson on board.
He was seen as the missing piece that can navigate a talented Broncos receiving corps to greater heights.
But despite winning two of their first four games this season, they are nowhere near the dominating aerial attack that football fans and experts expected.
Instead, they are struggling to put points on the board, as shown by their 27 total points in two wins.
The Broncos won those games, with the Houston Texans scoring nine points and the San Francisco 49ers scoring ten.
Tim Patrick‘s season-ending injury might be a factor in Denver’s reduced threat in their passing attack.
However, as NFL Network’s James Palmer pointed out, even Wilson is having a decrease in production early in the 2022 season.

Wilson Is Missing In Action
Palmer tweeted, “It’s early. But this isn’t the start Russell Wilson or the #broncos expected.”
The Broncos expected the quarterback who led the Seattle Seahawks to two Super Bowls, winning one over them when Peyton Manning was still playing behind center.
Denver hoped for the play-caller who became a one-time All-Pro and nine-time Pro-Bowler.
The three-time Super Bowl champions longed for the quarterback that has led the league in passer rating and passing touchdowns.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t look like the same guy after having career lows in completion percentage, passing touchdown percentage, and passer rating after the first quarter of 2022.
His 64.8 completion percent for the Seahawks last season is nowhere near his 61.1 percent at present.
Meanwhile, he finished the 2021 season with a passer rating of 103.1, a far cry from his 91.1 with Denver.
Turning these numbers around will help the Broncos have more comfortable victories.
Wilson can start bouncing back from his slump when they face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
