Another game, another loss, another night of soul searching for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers faced off against the Dallas Mavericks at home on Tuesday.
Although they played better than in previous games and made it close, the Lakers were eventually taken down, 109-104.
That means the team has lost every single game they’ve played since returning from the All-Star break.
The team is obviously still in disarray and something needs to change.
Russell Westbrook, who usually looks on the brighter side of things, got quite frank about his own performance.

Speaking after the loss, Westbrook said, “What I’m doing right now ain’t good enough. It ain’t good enough.”
Westbrook is right that he’s not doing well enough.
However, he’s missing the point about one thing: most of the team isn’t good enough – it isn’t just Westbrook.
End Of The Road
There are still a few weeks left in the regular NBA season but one thing is becoming more and more obvious: the Lakers aren’t going far in the postseason…if they make it at all.
The dreams of them making it to the Finals or even into the second round are all but dead.
At this point, the Lakers need to turn their season around not for a Finals victory but for their own pride.
These next few weeks should really be focused on truly figuring out where this season went wrong.
By finally examining why the team failed, they can hopefully recover for next season and prevent the same things from happening again.
Westbrook’s admission that he isn’t doing enough is a good step.
However, he needs to follow that up by determining what he will do to right the wrongs and correct things for next season.
This year may be lost but the Lakers still have a future to look forward to.
