There have been a lot of headlines about NBA superstar Russell Westbrook lately, and they haven’t been very positive.
Westbrook was traded away from the Los Angeles Lakers last week after more than a season of dysfunction, inconsistency, and repeatedly coming up short.
His trade was followed by a lot of reporting about Westbrook’s relationship with the team during his stay in LA.
Some unflattering things were said about Westbrook, with one report referring to him as a “vampire” in the locker room.

But now Westbrook is receiving support from other NBA stars who are sick of the comments against him.
Robert Covington, the forward who played with Westbrook on the Houston Rockets, took to social media to say “he’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever had.”
Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics posted a list of Westbrook’s achievements during his career: nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA, two-time scoring champion, 24,000 career points, and the most-ever triple-doubles.
It’s clear that Westbrook might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he certainly has a lot of supporters within the league and that should count for something.
These are some of the people who know him best, far better than the fans unhappy with his production in LA.
Even with his rough patch in Los Angeles, Westbrook is still a very accomplished and very talented player who could have a wonderful run with a different team.
He is officially with the Utah Jazz right now but it’s expected he’ll be bought out by that team soon and will be on the hunt for a new home.
Will Westbrook experience a resurgence in the months ahead?
