Despite an embarrassing stretch of games for the Los Angeles Lakers, culminating in last night’s painful loss to the Houston Rockets, there is maybe one positive to take away from it all.

It’s been a rough season for the Lakers, especially for Russell Westbrook, who was been the subject of much of the criticism from Laker fans.

But he did make a little history in last night’s game.

Despite the loss, Westbrook became the 33rd player in NBA history to reach the 23,000-point plateau, adding to his impressive career resume and helping him secure his spot among the NBA legends.

Westbrook Dominates

In light of all the struggles Westbrook and the Lakers have endured during the 2021-22 NBA season, it’s good to see Westbrook reach a milestone.

You can’t help but feel good for him, especially after all he has been through this year, having been the target of fans’ criticism.

Despite all of his struggles, Westbrook is still one of the best players to ever play in the NBA.

There’s little doubt that he’s put together a Hall-of-Fame worthy career, and at the very least, he kept the Lakers in the game last night, and within striking distance.

In a time where it’s tough to find bright spots for the Lakers, Westbrook sure provided one.

Where The Lakers Go From Here

It’s no secret that this season has not gone according to plan for Los Angeles, especially after adding Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony to complement LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

They looked like a clear title contender on paper entering the season, and they still have a ton of talent on their roster.

The season isn’t over, but it’s not looking too good for the Lakers at this point.
