Good MLB players show their talent on the field, but true stars know that their impact goes well beyond what happens on the diamond.
Milwaukee Brewers infielder Rowdy Tellez understands that players are role models to fans, especially children, and took some of his time at the stadium to share a few moments with some special supporters.
“Really great experience tonight with Brewers @RowdyTellez. Thank you for taking the time to comfort my son. My boys lost their Mom to cancer this year and it has been an incredibly tough year. An incredible experience we won’t soon forget,” Twitter user Eric Michaelis wrote, with a video of his son talking to Tellez.

Michaelis also tweeted an extraordinary gift Tellez gave: signed bats with a special message: “She will always be with you.”

A Nice Gesture By Tellez
It’s an incredibly kind gesture by Tellez and the Brewers.
In the comments, Michaelis told the story of how his family lost several members over the course of what has been a tough year.
The kids lost their grandma in December, grandpa in March, and their mom in April.
The family dog also died in July.
In times like this, baseball can be a great medicine to keep the family together: it’s a fun activity that will help keep their minds away from the problems, at least for a while.
The Michaelis family will now have a touching moment to remember for all their lives.
Hopefully, the Brewers can make it all the way to the postseason so they can gift more joyful moments.
It was, without a doubt, one of the most touching moments in MLB this year.
