The Atlanta Braves got a huge boost on Thursday night with the return of their superstar outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr., who had been on the injured list since mid-July recovering from a torn ACL.
And Acuna came back in style, picking up his first hit of the season in the Braves’ 5-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
He was ready to go from the start and waltzed into Truist Park wearing the jersey of another Atlanta star, Trae Young, whose Atlanta Hawks were just eliminated in the NBA playoffs by the Miami Heat.
But Young caught wind of Acuna rocking his jersey and tweeted a welcome back message to the Braves’ star.

Solidarity And Support
This is a nice show of solidarity between two major sports teams in Atlanta.
It’s always nice to see two teams from a city supporting each other.
Young clearly feels the same way and is super excited about having Acuna back in uniform with the Braves and ready to help them continue their title defense.
But Young is just as happy as the rest of Atlanta to see Acuna make his return.
Though the Braves managed to win their title with both him and Marcell Ozuna on the shelf, there was bound to be a ton of excitement surrounding the eventual return of Acuna.
He is one of the brightest young stars in the game of baseball.
The entire baseball community was waiting on pins and needles to see Acuna back.
And as it turns out, one of the brightest young stars in the NBA was too.
Acuna made a good choice with his fashion statement and Young loved every minute of it and is excited to see one of Atlanta’s finest back in business.
