Ronald Acuna Jr. has had himself a truly remarkable season.
Heading into Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Atlanta Braves star was just one home run shy of joining an elite club, one that no previous players had ever reached.
But with one swing of the bat, Acuna found himself in elite territory as the first player with 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases in a single season.
It was a grand slam in the top of the second inning that gave the Braves a 5-1 lead over the Dodgers.
On Twitter, ESPN posted a graphic to celebrate the young outfielder’s historic accomplishment.

Acuna finds himself right in the thick of the MVP race in the National League, and with good reason.
No player in the history of baseball had ever hit 30 homers in a season while also stealing 60 or more bases.
With one swing of the bat, Acuna created his own elite club and now stands alone at the top of the heap.
The Braves won the game by a final score of 8-7 and improved their record to an MLB-best 88-45.
But the story of the game was Acuna.
All it took was one swing of the bat for the slugger to officially become the lone member of the 30-60 club.
Now, Acuna stands alone in his own elite club.
This has been a truly historic season for the former Rookie of the Year and 2021 World Series champion, and he may have a leg up in the MVP race as a result of his most recent historic accomplishment.
