The 2022 Colorado Rockies had a promising start to the 2022 season, but that seems like a distant memory now.
They are currently 33-42, in last place of the NL West division and 13 games behind the leaders, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Their -63 run differential is also the worst in the division.
None of those numbers stopped them in the last couple of days, though, when they handed two straight surprising losses to the Dodgers.
And they did it in spectacular fashion and against all odds, too.
“The @Rockies are the first team in MLB history to hand a loss to an 8-0 or better pitcher (Tyler Anderson yesterday) and a pitcher with multiple Cy Youngs (Clayton Kershaw today) in back-to-back games (either order),” Stats by STATS tweeted late Tuesday night.

Rockies Pitchers Have Performed Well This Week
Colorado first defeated the 2020 World Series champs 4-0 on Monday, behind an excellent pitching performance by right-hander Chad Kuhl.
Kuhl pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out five hitters, with no walks.
Anderson lost for the Dodgers.
On Tuesday, the Rox offense had a great day and they won 7-4 against Kershaw and Los Angeles.
Randal Grichuk and Elias Diaz homered against Kershaw, who allowed six earned runs in just four innings of work.
Kyle Freeland notched a quality start (three runs allowed in six innings) and lifted his team to the victory in Coors Field.
The teams will play again in the same venue, starting at 6:40 p.m. ET.
Will Colorado be able to complete an unexpected sweep against one of the best teams in the league?
We will find out in a few hours.
It would be one of the most surprising developments in the NL West this season.
