The Houston Rockets remain in a painful rebuilding stage this season.
There is not another James Harden waiting to show up and save the day this time around.
Fans saw the team get off to a 1-1 start this year, only to lose 15 games in a row to fall to 1-16.
It is hard to find many positives with such a horrific streak.
But the Rockets have done something amazing since getting loss No. 16 on the year.
They have won six games in a row, with the most recent victory coming Sunday over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Following up a 15-game losing streak with this winning streak has made not only NBA history, but professional sports history as well.
According to @EliasSports the Rockets are the first team in NBA/NHL/MLB/NFL history to win 6 straight games immediately after a losing streak of 15+ games. pic.twitter.com/aJ9OF4Czqh

A team that loses 15 games in a row is usually in no position to win their next six.
As it turns out, no NBA, NHL, MLB, or NFL team has ever done what Houston is doing now as they return some faith to the fans.
Houston Seeking A Quick Turnaround
Some NBA fans will be quick to point out that this streak features a win over the Pelicans, one against the Orlando Magic, and two versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But the Rockets began the streak by taking down the Chicago Bulls and followed that up with an overtime win against the Charlotte Hornets.

So it’s not like every win has come against a bad team.
Also, the Rockets are considered a bad team this season, so no matchup comes easy for them.
Houston is now 7-16 with a game against the Brooklyn Nets scheduled for Wednesday.
Just a few weeks ago that seemed like an automatic loss.
But this rebuilding team now has some real confidence, led by veterans Eric Gordon and Christian Wood.
If Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. can play consistently, once they return from their respective ailments, this team has a nice mix of young and veteran talent.
Perhaps this winning streak won’t be seen as a fluke after all.
