Robinson Cano Showed Zero Rust In His Braves Debut

Robinson Cano has bounced around this season.

After a terrible start, the New York Mets designated him for assignment.

The San Diego Padres came calling, but nothing really seemed to fall into place for him, as he ultimately was designated for assignment and sent down to Triple-A.

The Padres then shipped him off to Atlanta to play for the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves.

Cano made his debut with the Braves last night with the Mets in town and proved that he is still capable of producing, as he had a multi-hit game.

Bally Sports tweeted a GIF of Cano making a celebratory move after one of his hits last night.

Welcome To Atlanta

Cano may have finally found a home for the season and maybe, just maybe, he’s started hitting again.

Even amidst all of his struggles, he is still one of the most feared left-handed hitters in all of baseball and is not somebody you want to leave a pitch down the heart of the plate to.

That’s what got him that 10-year deal with the Seattle Mariners in the first place.

He may be past his prime, but he still has it in him, and he proved that last night.

He may also be perfect for the Braves.

They need to fill a hole that was left by the injury to Ozzie Albies, and if Cano gets hot, he could do just that.

Two hits in last night’s game is a good start for sure.

We’ll see what’s next for him and if he can ultimately stay with the Braves for the rest of the season.

The Braves could really use a productive Cano right now.
