Could it be that New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh hasn’t decided on who will be his starting quarterback?
If so, he better make up his mind because the days leading to their season opener continue to dwindle.
But instead of solidifying their depth chart, Saleh continues to make statements like this.
Jets coach Robert Saleh: I’ve said it before… we feel like we have 3 starting quarterbacks (Wilson, Flacco and Mike White.)

While it’s nice that he gives confidence to his players, he should have chosen a top quarterback already.
Mike White did show promise last season but fizzled in the next game.
Joe Flacco is keeping himself in shape and would like to start against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, in Week 1.
In a recent interview, Saleh said about Flacco, “He could start in this league. I believe that. Sometimes, this league has a tendency to pigeonhole people and put labels on people and then their opportunities kinda get limited. But Joe Flacco is a starting quarterback in this league.”
Finally, Zach Wilson has to fulfill the highest expectations among the three given that he is the second overall selection in last year’s draft.
Who Will Emerge As The Starter?
Saleh should make up his mind in order to plan accordingly for their upcoming opponent.
But it seems like Wilson is still the favorite to lead the Jets as starting quarterback, given he is healthy in Week 1.
However, his stint might not last long if he struggles.
Having fantastic performances against the Ravens, the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Pittsburgh Steelers solidifies his grip on that role as QB1.
