It’s no secret that MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred is not well liked.
Over the course of his years as commissioner, he has failed to punish two teams for sign-stealing scandals, eliminated 42 minor-league affiliates, referred to the World Series trophy as a “hunk of metal,” and has caused baseball to have two shortened seasons in a three-year period.
And it’s not like people are simply looking for things to not like about Manfred.
The fact of the matter is that Manfred has continued to fail baseball and its fans.
One thing in particular stands out from yesterday in addition to him laughing as he announced cancelled games.

Manfred Is M.I.A.
This should be downright infuriating to baseball players, fans, and personnel alike.
At the crucial moment, Manfred was not giving his all to try and ensure that the 2022 baseball season will start on time, which is what he should have been doing.
The fact that he chose to practice his golf swing during this time shows that he is unfocused as commissioner and not fit to be in charge of Major League Baseball.
A commissioner should always be focused on what needs to be done for the league that they are in charge of, and Manfred was not.
When things mattered most, he decided to practice his golf swing instead of focusing his energy on trying to get a deal done and save baseball from another shortened season.
It stands one of the many reasons why negotiations fell apart yesterday and we’re now likely going to miss a significant chunk of the 2022 season.
Manfred only continues to fail players, personnel, and fans in every possible way.
