The Sacramento Kings made a big call this weekend and it was one that could seriously affect their future.
After letting go of their coach just weeks ago, the team found a new man to lead them: Mike Brown.
The former Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers coach was hired by Sacramento as the team’s new head coach.
He’s entering into a tough job that doesn’t have many rewards.
However, if he pulls off a major feat, he will become a legend.
Mike Brown gets the Kings back into the playoffs, he’ll be eating for free in Sacramento forever.

Bonta Hill points out that if Brown ends up getting the Kings back into the playoffs, he’ll be eating for free in Sacramento forever.
There is no doubt that’s true because the Kings have been missing the postseason for years now and fans are beyond eager for that to change.
End Of The Drought
The Kings haven’t been in the playoffs since 2006.
That’s the longest playoff drought in the history of the NBA and a black mark on the team.
Throughout numerous coaches and many lineup alterations, the Kings have repeatedly come up short again and again.
Will Brown’s selection as head coach change that?
As an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, Brown was a part of three championship runs.
As a head coach, his teams never won a title.
In fact, his Cavaliers were swept in the 2007 NBA Finals by the Spurs.
Still, Brown has earned the trust of many players within the league and was even named NBA Coach of the Year in 2009.
The task laid before him with the Kings will be his biggest challenge yet.
If he turns this team around, he will deserve every award in the book.
