The New York Mets may have a new secret weapon that helps them win games.
What is the weapon in question, you ask?
Well, look no further than Timmy Trumpet playing his trumpet solo from the song “Narco” live at Citi Field when Edwin Diaz entered the game.
This is the song that plays every time Diaz comes into a game, but with Timmy Trumpet there in person to hype up the crowd, everybody went crazy, and Diaz ultimately got the job done.
Ben Collins of NBC Sports was in attendance on Wednesday night when Diaz entered and Timmy sounded his trumpet, explaining what it was like to be in that atmosphere and how it may carry the Mets from this point forward.
I was at this game last night and I'm telling you there was no way the Mets were losing this game after this song.
It was like they summoned The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. People were high-fiving because the guy was riding the trumpet like a horse. https://t.co/S2y4R59wFA

The Mets’ Bread And Butter
This could be a secret weapon for the Mets for the rest of the year.
Many around the game seem to believe that the song gives them that extra push late in games, and maybe it does.
But if it works out, then it’s definitely something that can light a fire under the Mets and help carry them through the rest of the season.
The crowd loves hearing that song every time it plays, but it’s even better when Timmy Trumpet himself is there to play it live and get the crowd going.
It might just end up being the Mets’ bread and butter.
Who’s to say it’s not a secret weapon for them.
It seems to work every time.
We could potentially see this theme continue in October and turn into a tradition for the Mets, similarly to when they play “Sweet Caroline” at Fenway Park.
It would certainly be fun to see.
The atmosphere would be electric as always.
