The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be ready to move off of G Danny Green.
Danny Green found himself amongst the troll mafia throughout the postseason.
It was no secret that Danny Green had his struggles shooting the 3 ball, but like everyone else, he is a human who is suspect to some poor shooting performances.
Most notably, Danny Green missed a wide open three at the top of the key during Game 5 of the NBA Finals, that would have ultimately won the Lakers the series
After that game, fans signed a petition to prevent him from getting a ring if the Lakers were in fact to win the NBA Championship.
Him, along with his finance, also received death threats from fans.
Green now finds himself in trade rumors.
Los Angeles Lakers Expected To Make Deal With Dallas Mavericks
Rumors were sparked after the NBA Finals that the Los Angeles Lakers would be looking to put together a trade package of Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma.
After all, it makes sense as Green has the third-largest contract on this team while Kuzma’s youth can attract potential suitors.
Well, the Lakers may be catching a break as the Dallas Mavericks appear to be interested in trading for the three-time champ.
Emma Steinberg of Sports Illustrated reported the following:
“[Danny] Green has great versatility and playoff experience, and could still be a huge asset to the Mavericks if they successfully trade for him next season. And with the aftermath of Green’s missed three late in Game 5, his field goal percentage sitting at 34% for the postseason and a favorable contract with the Lakers, he could be more likely than ever to now make the move.”
Ideally, the trade makes sense as the Lakers are looking to shed cap as they try to bring in another star player.
Steinberg also touches upon how Green’s defensive ability can contribute to this Dallas roster:
“Most importantly, Dallas could use Green’s lockdown defense and tenacity. He averages 1.2 steals per game, and Doncic could certainly use the help as his lack of lateral speed leaves opponents with an open lane to the basket more often than not.”
A young Dallas roster could use the veteran experience of Danny Green.
Danny Green Almost Signed With Dallas In The Offseason
Believe it or not, Danny Green is a back-to-back NBA Champion.
He would not have been a back-to-back NBA champ if he did indeed sign with the Mavericks in the offseason.
Free agent Danny Green plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. The Dallas Mavericks were also pursuing Green.

Danny Green was apart of the blockbuster Kawhi Leonard trade that sent him from San Antonio to Toronto.
After winning the 2019 NBA Championship with the Toronto Raptors, many believed that Green was going to follow Leonard in free agency.
But, with Leonard taking his time with the decision, Green went and signed a 2 year, $30 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It appears that Green won’t be a Laker for much longer.
