It’s not a particularly fun time to be a Cincinnati Reds fan.
The team is the worst in the majors with a 2-11 record, and the worst part is that things don’t appear likely to improve soon.
Their roster is depleted, their competition is clearly better than them, and their three best players haven’t produced much: Jonathan India and Luis Castillo are injured, and Joey Votto is struggling.
They do have a ray of hope for the future in pitcher Hunter Greene.
Greene has been impressive in a limited sample, with a 4.35 ERA and 13 strikeouts in just 10.1 innings.
He is urging Reds fans to go to the stadium and support the team through thick and thin.
Greene Wants Fans To Support The Reds
It may not be easy: fans are upset with the ownership and the route they decided to take, and there aren’t too many reasons to watch the Reds.
But Greene insists.
“Calling all @Reds fans to come out this home series. I want to see a sea of Red. We got a lot of games left and we need your support, it means more than you know!,” he tweeted.

Players often feed from the passion and the cheers in the stands.
They play for the people to see, so it’s understandable they want to feel supported by the fans.
But this tweet from Nati Sports probably sums up the situation perfectly.
“You wouldn’t of even had to ask fans to come out. We always do/did. It’s a shame the route the team took in your rookie year has gone the way it has. It isn’t fair to you, and even more importantly, isn’t fair to us. With that said, you still got the fans support, big truss.”

It’s probably going to be a long season in Cincinnati.
