The Cincinnati Reds are an incredibly lousy baseball team.
Very few people, if any, thought that they could realistically be worse than the Baltimore Orioles, the Pittsburgh Pirates, or the Arizona Diamondbacks.
But here they are, and the Reds aren’t even looking like a Triple-A team.
They are looking like a Double-A team.
They are 3-21 to open the season, and have won only one game since April 10.
That’s outrageous!
Their Thursday lineup is a cruel joke to fans.
Even insider C. Trent Rosecrans, who covers the team for The Athletic, feels sorry about this lineup.
“Man… not gonna lie. This looks like a Cactus League lineup. Only 3 of these appeared in a Reds uniform in 2021,” he wrote via Twitter.

The Reds Are Taking The Field With Several Unknowns
Most Reds fans don’t even know half of those guys.
Right now, they have some of their regulars out with injuries or slumps.
Jonathan India is out with a physical ailment, and Joey Votto is not available because he was placed on the COVID-19 list.
Nick Senzel and Tyler Naquin are also out on the COVID-19 list.
That, and the fact they shopped, traded, and let go of their best players over the offseason has resulted in an awful lineup that should be lucky to produce a couple of runs in today’s matinee.
Reds fans deserve much better than this.
We have said it many times, but just when we think the franchise has hit rock bottom, we see situations like Thursday’s.
This is a team that held the second National League Wild Card spot at one point in the second half last year.
Now, they have lost 21 of their first 24 games.
It’s just sad.
