It’s been a rough go of things for the Cincinnati Reds.
Here, we have a team that is off to a historically bad start.
They’ve opened the season 3-21 and own the worst record in all of baseball.
It’s hard to imagine being this bad, but the Reds have done it and their fans are living in the middle of a nightmare.
This is as bad as it gets.
In fact, you have to go all the way back to 1894 to find a National League team who started off this bad.
That year, it was the Washington Senators, who made history as the first team in NL history to lose 21 of their first 24 games.
The Reds are the second team in National League history to lose at least 21 of their first 24 games.
The other was the Washington Senators in 1894.

Party Like It’s 1894
It’s been ages since a team started this bad.
But now, the Reds have matched that start and are on a terrible trajectory.
The fans are losing patience for their front office and ownership.
They’re tired of losing and tired of seeing nothing done about it.
The last thing the Reds and their fans wanted was to match the 1894 Washington Senators.
But here we are, 24 games into the 2022 season, and the Reds have done just that.
They look like they could be even worse as the season drags on.
There isn’t any realistic hope of them coming out of this rut.
There have been too many injuries and departures for this team to be taken seriously by anybody.
Other teams are going to look at the Reds as a soft spot on their schedule.
It’s hard to believe it’s been this long since a team started out so bad, but lo and behold, here the Reds are, ready to make history in the worst way possible.
