For much of the season, we have been focused on the free-fall of the Los Angeles Angels.
But another team may soon join them in the misery.
That team is the Boston Red Sox, who after having a firm grasp on the final Wild Card spot in the American League before the end of the first half, have plummeted all the way to the .500 mark and have lost five straight games.
Boston is now three games back of that final Wild Card spot after being swept by the Toronto Blue Jays.
After their 8-4 loss yesterday, Red Sox manager Alex Cora was very candid about how bad things have been, but also preached that he believes this team can turn it around quickly, as seen in the tweet below.
Red Sox's Alex Cora: The brand of baseball we’re playing is awful. We’re not catching the ball. We’re not putting good at-bats. We’re not throwing strikes. It’s bad. It’s really bad right now. But we’re talented. And we can turn it around quick. And it starts tomorrow"

Cora Comments On Red Sox Struggles
Things have gotten pretty bad lately for the Red Sox.
After turning things around on the heels of a bad start to the season, they’ve come back down to earth a little bit.
Now, they’re only ahead of the Baltimore Orioles by a half-game.
If things don’t change quickly, we could see the Red Sox in the cellar of the AL East division.
They’ll open up a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians tonight.
But Cora was pretty blunt when he offered his assessment of the team.
Right now, things are not going well for the Red Sox, and there isn’t any way to put a positive spin on it.
Nothing is going right for this team right now.
Cora is offering an honest take on the state of the team right now.
But at the same time, it’s clear he believes that the Sox are capable of more, and we’ll see if he’s right.
