This winter has been quite a mixed bag for the Boston Red Sox.
Though they lost shortstop Xander Bogaerts to the San Diego Padres in free agency, they still have made some key moves to strengthen their club.
They have signed sluggers Masataka Yoshida, Adam Duvall, and Justin Turner to bolster the offense and pitchers Corey Kluber and Kenley Jansen to stabilize the starting rotation and bullpen.
And it’s possible that the Red Sox may not be done just yet.
According to Chris Cotillo, the team has expressed interest in veteran left-hander Matt Moore, a free agent who transitioned from a starter to a reliever and posted a 1.95 ERA in 63 appearances with the Texas Rangers.

Moore could be a potential fit in Boston.
The 33-year-old is familiar with the American League East from his time with the Tampa Bay Rays, the team for which he made his Major League debut for in 2011.
The 33-year-old has obviously transitioned to a relief role, but could potentially be stretched out as a starter if the Red Sox need some more rotation depth.
He had been a starter from his rookie season up until 2021 before moving into a relief role.
But with his background in starting, that could be possible.
At the very least, he gives the Red Sox a key lefty that they could also potentially use in the bullpen.
With Josh Taylor having been traded to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for Adalberto Mondesi, Boston has an opening for a lefty in their pen.
