The Boston Red Sox have had an interesting offseason.
Though they signed some key pieces in Justin Turner, Masataka Yoshida, Kenley Jansen, and Corey Kluber, they were outbid on Jose Abreu and Zach Eflin and watched Tommy Kahnle sign with the New York Yankees, despite the Red Sox offering a more lucrative contract.
Xander Bogaerts also departed via free agency, and now the Red Sox will be without Trevor Story for some time.
Needless to say, this winter has been a mixed bag for Boston.
But that doesn’t mean that more moves can’t be made to strengthen the team.
On Twitter, one fan proposed a hypothetical trade with the Miami Marlins that could land the Red Sox a starting pitcher, namely Pablo Lopez.
I could be wrong, but I feel like this is the only way the Red Sox could get Pablo Lopez from the Marlins without giving up Casas. pic.twitter.com/kJPdqkDLrO

The Red Sox and Marlins previously had trade discussions, but talks fell apart when the Red Sox were not willing to part ways with top prospect Triston Casas.
But this mock trade proposed by the fan might get the Red Sox what they need without having to give up Casas.
Despite the addition of Kluber, the team could use some starting pitching.
Chris Sale and James Paxton are coming back from injuries, and the team is banking a lot on them.
They also lost both Rich Hill and Nathan Eovaldi in free agency and may also lose Michael Wacha.
Acquiring Lopez could help offset some of the production lost in free agency.
Fans in Boston are understandably frustrated with the team’s front office and are hoping for some more activity soon.
