It hasn’t been a great offseason for the Boston Red Sox.
Following a 78-win season and a last-place finish in the American League East, the team missed out on a few key free agents, barely being outbid for slugger Jose Abreu and right-hander Zach Eflin.
In addition to that, the team lost their star shortstop in Xander Bogaerts and also have watched pitchers Rich Hill and Nathan Eovaldi walk in free agency.
The signings of Kenley Jansen, Masataka Yoshida, and Corey Kluber, have done little to offset the heartache over the team’s recent losses.
On Twitter, one fan thanked Eovaldi for his time in Boston and also let loose with a rant over how the front office has handled things.
John Henry and Chaim Bloom have done the impossible. They’ve made the idea of following the Red Sox depressing. This team has few stars, little personality and no chance. Shame on the Red Sox. Thank you Nate. You were everything we could’ve asked. pic.twitter.com/Uq764Gur8u

While the Red Sox are obviously no longer carrying around the “Curse of the Bambino”, that doesn’t take the sting out of the team’s recent trend of unfortunate events.
Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi were each traded after Chaim Bloom took over as the team’s president of baseball operations.
While the Betts trade brought back a key contributor in Alex Verdugo, fans are still understandably frustrated with how things have been handled by Bloom and owner John Henry.
The Red Sox also may lose Michael Wacha in free agency, who was the team’s most dependable starting pitcher in 2022.
Meanwhile, the rival New York Yankees have made some big moves, re-signing Aaron Judge and inking left-hander Carlos Rodon.
Fans in Boston are frustrated and demanding change after a frustrating four seasons since their 2018 World Series title.
