With the Houston Astros coming off a dominant run to a World Series title, there is reason to think it is not over.
Of course, one of the hardest things to do in sports is repeat as champions.
However, the Astros have set themselves up in a position to create a dynasty.
Here are three reasons the team could repeat as World Series champions.
3. Returning Core
The Astros are heading into the 2023 season with their talented core returning.
Rookie sensation Jeremy Pena will control shortstop, while Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, and Kyle Tucker all are coming back.

Add all of this together and the Astros will once again have one of the best lineups in all of baseball.
Not only this, but the team will have another season of development and experience under their belts.
2. Strong Development System
At this point, the Astros have created a system that essentially feeds into itself.
Their minor league development is so strong and consistent that the team seems to breed major league talent.
Look at Pena for example, who replaced the departing All-Star Carlos Correa this season.
The team didn’t miss a single beat with Pena, who filled the role just as well as Correa could have.
This is something that is an important characteristic for a dynasty, and might be the reason the Astros win many more championships.
1. World Series Experience
While the bulk of the Astros’ roster had World Series experience coming into this year, it wasn’t necessarily all winning.
Now that they have gotten over that hump, especially with the looming pressure of their 2017 cheating scandal, the Astros have critical experience and a winning edge.

The Astros now know how to finish the deal, and have experience running the table.
This is something that will help them going forward, as they will always have that confidence going forward.
The Astros are here, and they are here to stay for a long time.
