Sometimes, a certain team or player just has your number.
It doesn’t matter what the other team does to try and stop it.
Sometimes, that one player or team is just dialed in.
And that seems to be the case with the Tampa Bay Rays, at least when they’re playing the Baltimore Orioles.
The Rays have begun the 2022 season 3-0 and look to be prepared for another strong season.
Not only that, but they have now won 15 consecutive games against the Orioles, which is the second longest active winning streak by one team over another according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.
The longest such streak belongs to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won 16 straight games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Rays have won 15 straight over the Orioles after the 8-0 win today. The longest current win streak by one team over another is 16 by the Dodgers over the Pirates. @MLBNetwork

Locked In
The Rays just seem to have the Orioles’ number as of late.
If you’re on the other side of that run like the Orioles are, you’re looking to find a way to end it as soon as possible and snap the skid.
But with Tampa Bay set to contend again this year and the Orioles likely headed for another last place finish in the American League East division, it appears unlikely that this stretch will end anytime soon.
The Rays are a better team than the Orioles in every way possible.
A 3-0 start likely means good things will come for them in the near future, while Baltimore will continue to be stuck in the cellar of the AL East.
When you have a team’s number, stopping the stretch becomes that much harder for the other side.
We’ll see how long this run lasts.
It doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon.
15 straight wins over a team is an impressive feat.
